Pakistan has condemned the deadly bomb attacks on London's transport network
on Thursday and said it would stand side by side with Britain in the fight
against international terrorism, Dawn newspaper reported Friday. Both
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz sent
messages of condolences to British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Thursday. "We
strongly condemn this act of terrorism," Musharraf said, adding "This incident
has further fortified our commitment to fight against terrorism. It is
imperative that we stand together and further strengthen our bonds of
cooperation to eliminate this menace." Pakistan, like Britain, is a key ally
of the United States in its global war on terror and there is about one million
strong Pakistani community in Britain. Serial blasts ripped through London
during rush hour on Thursday morning, killing at least 38 people and injuring
around 700 others.
