Bush wins key Florida, Kerry gazes at Ohio

US President has won Florida, one of key states, thus having made his Democratic challenger JohnKerry to look to the final crucial state of Ohio.

Bush's victory has brought the incumbent to 237 electoral votes,just 33 votes short of the 270 electoral votes he needs to win re-election.

Kerry had earlier taken Pennsylvania, another key state in the ongoing presidential election, according to local mass media.

Election experts have predicted that Kerry must win Ohio with 20 electoral votes, the last crucial state in the election, if he wants beat Bush in the contest. But with 83 percent of the precincts reporting in Ohio, Bush has a lead of about 140,000 votes, or 51 percent to 48 percent.

With 68 percent of the nation's precincts reporting, Democraticcandidate John Kerry has won 40,875,408 votes, or 48 percent, while George W. Bush has claimed 43,583,940 votes, or 51 percent, the latest nationwide election returns reported by AP showed.

According to the tally, Kerry has won 195 electoral votes from 14 states, including the District of Columbia, compared with 237 electoral votes from 25 states for Bush.
