The Democratic presidential nominee, Senator John Kerry, said on Wednesday
night that after the "9.11" attack, the United States was the "most divided"
country in the recent memory.
US President George W. Bush "is now presiding over the most divided America
in the recent memory of our country," Kerry told the audience present at the
third presidential debate held in Tempe, Arizona.
This was also the final debate, which focused mainly on domestic issues,
between the two candidates before the election day slated to be held on Nov. 2.
"I've never seen such ideological squabbles in the Congress of the United
States," Kerry added.
Kerry said that if he was elected, he would try to find the common ground of
"what makes us strong as Americans," pledging that he would devote the most
significant effort to "try to restore America's hope and possibilities by
bringing people together."
