Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's wife Suha Arafat and former Palestinian Minister of Interior Security Mohammed Dahlan will accompany Arafat to France for treatment, Palestinian official sources told Xinhua Thursday.

Sources closed to Dahlan said the young powerful man in Gaza met Arafat for a short while earlier in the day.

Dahlan said "Arafat's health became stable tonight and better than before."

Meanwhile, Mahmoud Abbas, secretary-general of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)'s executive committee, Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei and chief of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Rawhi Fatouh had several meetings with members of the Fatah central committee and PLO's executive committee over Arafat's illness.

Arafat, who has taken ill for the past two weeks, would be airlifted to Paris via the Jordanian capital Amman for treatment early Friday.
