Three earthquakes rocked Bangladesh's coastline and several other parts Sunday, but no casualties havebeen reported so far.

Two earthquakes, measuring 4.35 to 7.36 on the Richter Scale, shook the coastline and several other parts of Bangladesh Sunday morning and another tremor measuring 4.79 Richter Scale hit the southeastern Chittagong region in the afternoon, the official newsagency of Bangladesh BSS reported Sunday.

The report quoted officials at the Geo-physical Observatory Center at Chittagong as saying that the quakes lasted for one minute and 42 seconds to 3 minutes at different areas from 7:04 a.m. (0204 GMT) to 4:16 p.m. (11:16 GMT), rattled buildings, forcingpeople to run out of their homes. No injuries, however, were reported.

The strong earthquakes caused massive tidal waves and water surges in different coastal regions.

Police and Fire Brigade sources said they are yet to receive any reports of casualty or damage from the tremors.
