29/12/2004 17:20

Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos has sent messages of condolence to leaders of six Asian countries hit by the tsunami tidal waves that have claimed the lives of many people.
According to a communique from the Press Office of the Presidency of Angola on Tuesday, the messages were addressed to the heads of state or governments of India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Maldives, Thailand and Malaysia.
In the messages, dos Santos expressed deep dismay over the disastrous consequences of the tsunami, that, besides of causing the loss of many human lives, destroyed homes and goods and brought an indescribable agony to the peoples of those countries.
The death toll in the massive tsunamis triggered by a magnitude 8.7 earthquake in South and Southeast Asia on Sunday has reached around 60,000.
