Angolan president mourns victims of tsunami waves in Asian countries

Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos has sent messages of condolence to
leaders of six Asian countries hit by the tsunami tidal waves that have claimed
the lives of many people. According to a communique from the Press Office of
the Presidency of Angola on Tuesday, the messages were addressed to the heads of
state or governments of India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Maldives, Thailand and
Malaysia. In the messages, dos Santos expressed deep dismay over the
disastrous consequences of the tsunami, that, besides of causing the loss of
many human lives, destroyed homes and goods and brought an indescribable agony
to the peoples of those countries. The death toll in the massive tsunamis
triggered by a magnitude 8.7 earthquake in South and Southeast Asia on Sunday
has reached around 60,000.
