Thailand's official death toll of Sunday's tsunami attack on its southern coastlines has risen to 5,246 Tuesday evening, including 2,464 foreigners

The disaster also injured 8,457 people and 4,499 are still missing.

In Phang-nga alone, the official death toll stood at 4,134, with 5,597 injured and 2,113 still missing.
