Chinese artists and 20 media organizations in Beijing are joining forces to help victims of the South Asian tsunami.

This coming Sunday, they'll stage a large-scale benefit at the Capital Gymnasium.

"Love From China" will run for four hours. Enthusiasm is high, and many performers are on the waiting list.

Organizers say tickets will be 100 yuan or about 12 US dollars, and all revenues and donations will be handed over to the Red Cross Society of China.

The mass media in Beijing have taken the lead in buying tickets, Beijing Radio the first in line.

800 of its staff have each bought two tickets, for a total donation of 160,000 yuan ,or 19,000 US dollars. Enditem
