7/1/2005 11:31

Real Madrid set up a bank account to collect donations for helping the victims in the Indian Ocean tsunami, the Primera Liga champions announced on Thursday in the team's Bernabeu stadium.
Emilio Butragueno, vice president and sports director of the club said on the presentation that "the Asians need our aid", while team captain Raul added that "we have to help make life easier for the survivors of the tragedy".
"Real Madrid is shocked and in sorrow for the tragedy in Asia. We're facing one of the most brutal tidal waves in history and its consequences have been devastating," said Butragueno.
"The club feels responsibility to react and contribute in some way in helping and reconstructing the most affected areas.
"We want to call on soccer fans, but in particular our partners and followers from all over the world. In Asia they need our solidarity and Real Madrid is going to work on that," he added.
