The Myanmar authorities Sunday night called on citizens to take precaution
against probable more earthquakes following a powerful one in Indonesia in the
morning.
When the quake hit Sumatra, it was also obviously felt in the capital of
Yangon.
According to unconfirmed reports, the country's southeastern coastal region
was affected to some extent by the Indonesian quake.
Unofficial sources said the quake effects were not so serious as far as
Myanmar is concerned but at least 10 people were killed with more missing or
injured in the coastal region.
