Germans have donated at least 30 million euros (52 million US dollars) for the tsunami victims in southern Asia, aid organizations said Sunday.

"This is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, sum of donations in Germany," local media cited a spokesman of the UNICEF(United Nations Children's Fund) as saying.

More donations are expected as the public television station ZDF will hold a large donation gala on Tuesday.
