Turkey sends humanitarian aid to Indonesia, Sri Lanka

Two Turkish military cargo planes carrying 500,000 US dollars worth of humanitarian aid have respectively flew to Indonesia and Sri Lanka, the two worst-hit countries by the Dec. 26 tsunamis, the NTV news channel reported Sunday.

The plane heading to Sri Lanka carried medical supplies, water purification tablets and clothes while the plane to Indonesia tooktwo field clinics and humanitarian supplies.

Turkey has pledged 5 million dollars in aid for the countries hit by Tsunamis, which swept across the Asian countries in the Indian Ocean rim and killed over 150,000 people.
