The US Deputy Secretary of DefensePaul Wolfowitz has arrived in Sri Lanka,
the Colombo internationalairport officials said Monday.
Wolfowitz who arrived in Colombo around 11:30 a.m. local time will tour Sri
Lanka's Tsunami-stricken southern province, US officials in Colombo said.
He would hold talks with Sri Lankan leaders and the US militarycommanders
currently stationed in Sri Lanka as part of the US government's relief
operations in this Indian ocean island after the Dec. 26 Tsunami disaster.
The US marine soldiers are stationed in Katunayake near the international
airport, the southern port city of Galle and in the capital Colombo.
A US military vessel "USS Diluth" is anchored in the southern seas of the
country and the marines are involved in clearing rubble in the province.
