Mozambican civil donation to tsunami victims reaches US$12,000

The general secretary of the Mozambican Red Cross (CVM), Fernanda Teixeira,
on Thursday said that the country's civil donation to tsunami victims has
reached US$12,000. Teixeira told press the most recent substantial donation
to the CVM appeal came on Thursday from the Association of Foreign Exchange
Bureaux, which gave about US$1,300. But many of the donations to the appeal
come in the shape of small amounts from individual Mozambicans, shocked by the
extent of the disaster. Mozambican government announced on 29 December to
donate 100, US$000 to the tsunami victims.
