28/12/2004 11:47

Seven Chileans are missing after quake-triggered tidal waves struck coasts and islands across Southeast Asia Sunday, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Among the missing, a woman who was spending her honeymoon on the Thai island of Phi Phi was feared killed, Chile's ambassador in Bangkok said.
The Foreign Ministry is trying to obtain information about Chilean nationals living in the affected countries and has so far received 17 positive replies, said Foreign Minister Ignacio Walker.
A massive undersea earthquake in Indonesia and subsequent tidal waves in neighboring countries Sunday killed more than 11,400 people and left thousands more missing. The most affected zones are the western Indonesian islands, Sri Lanka, southern India, Malaysia, Maldives and extensive coastal areas of Thailand, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
