A team of 11 Chinese experts on assessment and reconstruction ended their
tour of Sri Lanka and the Maldives on Thursday.
During their stay in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, the team met with senior
officials of the two countries for talks on reconstruction involving a
damaged-port in Sri Lanka and tsunami-hit houses in the Maldives which China is
likely to aid to construct, said an official with the team.
They have also assessed the damages of the two countries objectively and got
more knowledge on how to provide concrete helpto the countries, the official
said.
The task force is composed of specialists from the Chinese Ministry of
Commerce, Ministry of Construction, and Ministry of Civil Affairs.
The expert team, China built for international relief efforts, left China's
capital Beijing for Sri Lanka on Jan 17.
