A suicide car bomb went off near the Australian Embassy in Iraq
Wednesday morning, killing at least two people and wounding four others, police
said. The blast took place around 7:00 a.m. (0400 GMT) in Baghdad's central
Jadiriyah neighborhood. About half an hour later, another car bomb hit a police
station in Baghdad's eastern Elwiyah neighborhood, also causing
casualties. Insurgents' attacks have been mounting recently as elections in
Iraq scheduled for Jan. 30 are drawing.
