The final results of the Jan. 30 elections will be announced on Sunday, Farid Ayar, spokesman for the election commission, told al-Arabiya TV channel on Saturday.
"The commission would meet Sunday morning to finalize some unspecified issues and then announce the final figures in the afternoon. The results will be considered official after a three- day period," Ayar said.
"We will give three days to verify the results, hear any disputes, and then they will be officially declared final," he said.
On Jan. 30, eligible voters cast their votes to choose a 275- member national assembly tasked with writing a constitution.
Many Sunnis are believed to have boycotted the elections.
