A US soldier was killed in the restive Anbar province west of Iraq, bringing to three the number of soldiers killed on Monday, the US military said on Tuesday.
"A soldier assigned to the I Marine Expeditionary Force died yesterday, bringing to three the number of soldiers who died while conducting security and stability operations in the Al-Anbar Province," the military said in a statement.
The statement did not give further details about the incident.
Earlier, the military reported the killing of two US soldiers in action in Al-Anbar province in western Iraq on Monday.
