An Iraqi militant group has claimed the killing of one Briton and one
Brazilian in an attack on a US company in the violence-ravaged country, the
Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV channel reported on Saturday. During the incident,
the group identifying itself as Al Mujahideen Squadrons also kidnapped one
Brazilian man, according to the TV report. The group said it carried out the
attack together with the Army of Ansar al-Sunna. It remained unclear whether
the attack was the same one claimed by the Army of Ansar al-Sunna, in which it
claimed the killing of one Swede and one Briton working for an intelligence
agency linked to US forces in the central city of Baiji. Sweden has denied
that a Swede had been killed. On Wednesday, one Briton and an Iraqi employed
by the London- based Janusian Security Risk Management were killed in an ambush
near Baiji. Violence has been mounting in Iraq as the Jan. 30 elections draw
near.
