At least 26 Iraqis have been killed in two separate suicide bombing attacks
in Baquba and Mosulon Monday.
Fourteen Iraqis were killed and at least 13 others wounded in a suicide
bombing attack outside a police station in Baquba, a town north of Baghdad.
Earlier, local police said that there were many casualties in the blast.
Also on Monday, a suicide car bombing killed 12 Iraqis in the northern Iraqi
city of Mosul.
At least 16 others were wounded in the attack outside a hospital in the city,
some 400 kilometers north of Baghdad.
In another development, unidentified militants attacked a police station
south of Baghdad, prompting an hour-long gunfight that killed 22 Iraqi security
forces and 14 attackers.
Iraqi police said the clash broke out on Sunday night, in Mahawil, 80
kilometers south of Baghdad.
Five Iraqi national guardsmen and 17 police were killed and 18 security
personnel were wounded.
Iraqi militants have mounted attacks on security forces to try to overturn
the US-backed interim government.
