21/1/2005 17:01

Oscars show producer Gil Cates unveils that last year's best actress Oscar winner, South Africa's Charlize Theron, will to present a golden statuette at the 2005 ceremony. She is the first star who sign up to this job at Oscar so far.

Theron picked up the top female acting award last year for her role as serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the biopic Monster.

The ice-blond beauty and former ballerina transformed her stunning looks with the aid of prosthetics and a good intake of doughnuts to play the murderous prostitute.

She will next be seen on the big screen in two films due for release this year, Aeon Flux, in which she plays a mysterious and amoral secret agent, and in the courtroom drama Class Action.

Nominations for this year's Academy Awards will be announced before dawn nest week in Beverly Hills and the glittering awards ceremony will go ahead in Hollywood about a month later.
