The 77th Academy Awards will be opened on February 27th, and all
of the 75 Golden Statuettes are being made.
Fans and celebrities are gearing-up for the event, however many
don't know how difficult it is to make the golden statues.
They are made out of a mixture of plating copper, nickel, silver
and 24k gold. A total of 75 statuettes are made annually in the R.S. Owen
manufactory in Chicago, and the company has produced the Golden Statuettes for
Oscars for 22 years.
