Lebanon makes progress in Hariri investigation
4/3/2005 15:57

Lebanese media reports that the country's security department has made some progress on the investigation of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri.

The Al-Safir newspaper reported Lebanese security personnel have found evidence of a suspect car trailing Hariri's motorcade through satellite and other images.

The security department has collected the remains of the car and reported to the UN investigation mission.

Reports suggest security personnel also checked underground tunnels beneath the scene of the blast.

On Thursday, the Swiss Federal Police agreed to a UN request for a coordinated investigation. Five Swiss experts will depart for Beirut within a few days to help the UN investigation mission analyze evidence.
