Lebanon PM denies resignition reports
24/2/2005 16:43

Lebanese Prime Minister Omar Karami has denied that he was willing to resign following the February. 14th assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Karami says he won't be ready to resign unless there is a vote of no-confidence in Parliament next Monday. Opposition leaders are pushing for the no-confidence motion.

Lebanon's media had reported that Karami was ready to resign on condition that a new government agreed to prevent a fall into a constitutional void.
