A group of Lebanese members of parliament on Tuesday called on the Arab
summit in Algiers to support the international investigation into the
assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri last month.
"We called on Arab leaders to take stand for the Lebanese people on forming
an international committee in charge of investigating the crime." the group
calling itself "future" said in a statement.
It regarded the formation of an international probing committee as a key
precondition of finding the truth of the murder and solving the current
political crisis.
The lawmakers also appealed to the United Nations Security Council to bring
those behind the assassination to justice as soon as possible.
An UN investigating team which left Lebanon last week, is expected to
announce initiative result on Thursday at the UN headquarters in New york.
