Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao spoke about Kyrgyzstan's current situation on Wednesday, calling the central Asian country a friendly neighbor.

"China has been closely watching Kyrgyzstan's domestic situation and has noticed the election result of the Kyrgyz parliament," said Liu.

"China sincerely hopes Kyrgyzstan maintains stable social and economic development, which not only is in the interests of the Kyrgyz people, but also contributes to the peace, stability and development of the central Asia, he said.
