US, Japan hold bilateral meeting

Delegations of the United States and Japan held bilateral meeting Monday morning in Beijing ahead of the six-party talks.

The bilateral meeting is still under way, according to informed sources here.

The ROK delegation, headed by ROK Deputy Foreign Minister Song Min-soon, arrived in Beijing Saturday morning. The US delegation, led by US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill, arrived here Sunday afternoon.

Prior to the ongoing US-Japanese meeting, delegations of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Korea (ROK) held a bilateral contact on Sunday in Beijing. Similar meeting was held between delegations of US and ROK on Monday morning.
