The World Health Organization (WHO) said Wednesday that one more case of human infection with H5N1 bird flu virus has been confirmed in Vietnam.

The case occurred in a 35-year-old man from Hanoi who was hospitalized with respiratory symptoms on Oct. 26 and died on Oct.29, the United Nations agency said in a statement.

The newly confirmed case coincides with a recurrence of outbreaks in poultry.

This is the first confirmed case in Vietnam since late July of this year. Since mid-December 2004, Vietnam has reported 65 cases,of which 22 were fatal, according to the WHO. Enditem
