French President Nicolas Sarkozy left Shanghai yesterday, concluding his
three-day state visit to China.
During his stay in Shanghai, east China's economic hub, Sarkozy met with Yu
Zhengsheng, head of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of
China.
Sarkozy said France would establish long-term cooperation with Shanghai in
areas of economy and trade, science and technology, education, and environmental
protection.
He said he hoped French entrepreneurs could seize the Chinese market and
expand their presence in China.
After the meeting Sarkozy attended the signing ceremony between Shanghai
Shentong Metro. Co., Ltd and French Alstom company on purchasing signal
equipment for Shanghai metro line 10.
Besides, Sarkozy visited Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center and the
Bund Area.
