An 800-year-old Chinese merchant ship loaded with precious rare goods is moved to its purpose built“Crystal Palace”at the Marine Silk Road Museum in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province, yesterday, five days after being raised from the sea. The glass storage tank will keep the water temperature, pressure and environment the same as the sea bed where the 5,000-ton ship has lain for centuries. Archaeologists will start assessing more than 60,000 cultural relics from the boat after a six-month settling period.—Xinhua
