Aiming at the swelling pockets of Beijing's super-rich, a Shanghai housing
developer is in the capital promoting its Sun Villa, a project that was voted as
China's most expensive villas in a national poll held last year, today's
Shanghai Morning Post reported.
For this promotion, 112 villas were on
display, each between 450 square meters and 1,000 square meters and with prices
starting at 12 million yuan (US$1.45 million), making billionaires the target
customers.
But money is not all.
"Buyers must have overseas living
experiences and we will conduct a strict certification of their identifications
to ensure that our clients are all of high quality," said Zhang, a sales
supervisor with the developer.
She said it's the first time that Sun Villa
has publicly promoted its villas. It chose Beijing for the unprecedented
event because the company has entertained many Beijing customers in
Shanghai. "We are very impressed by Beijing buyers' forthrightness and
generosity," she added.
Sun Villa is at the foot of Sheshan Mountain in
Shanghai's Songjiang District, west of the city. Its No. 8 villa has the
top place for the project among China's super luxury villas, with a price tag of
130 million yuan.
A Chinese holding a foreign passport has purchased the
villa, according to Zhang. But she declined to reveal more details of the
buyer because she said the company has agreed to keep the information a
secret.
