Shanghai's first batch of 4,000 housing units reserved for people
relocating due to urban construction will be offered in September this year,
according to the Shanghai Housing Development Bureau yesterday.
To date,
roofs have been sealed on the 4,000 housing units, with a total area of nearly
300,000 square meters, which are for residents relocating due to construction of
large public projects such as rail transportation and public
greenbelts.
Construction of water, electricity, gas and communications
facilities in the 4,000 housing units is currently in full
swing.
Shanghai plans to construct a total of 1.08 million square meters
of housing for relocated residents this year, with one million square meters
expected to be complete by the end of the year. The projects are located in
seven bases near the city's outer ring road.
Such properties will be sold
to relocating residents, just as with other commercial
properties.
