Minister denies rumors of a Unicom restructuring, appoints new executives

Speaking at the company's year-end review meeting, Vice Minister Xi Guohua of the Information Ministry denied the rumor that China's telecommunications authority will split-up the country's second largest mobile telecommunication company, China United Telecommunications Corp, China Telecom World magazine reported.
Also at the meeting, new appointments of senior executives were announced.
Li Gang, existing general manager of Beijing Mobile Corp, and Zhang Jun'an, general manager of Anhui Telecom Corp, will become vice-presidents at the company.
