Lenovo, Hai'er, Huawei, top IT revenue

Lenovo Group, Hai'er Group and Huawei Technologies Co, have topped China's
information technology firms in revenue in the first 11 months of 2006, Sina.com
reported today, citing the latest data released by the Ministry of Information
Industry. The ministry has published a list of China's top 100 IT firms in
terms of revenue. Data indicates that Lenovo reported 121.8 billion yuan
(US$15.6 billion) in income from January to November, a year-on-year jump of 36
percent, and Hai'er harvested 102.5 billion yuan, an increase of 3
percent. Huawei, China's biggest private telecommunications operator,
followed with revenue of 529 billion yuan, staging a surge of 39
percent. Huawei's key rival, ZTE Corp, the country's largest publicly traded
telecom manufacturer, reaped income of over 10 billion yuan. Huawei, Hai'er
and ZTE led the top 10 taxpayers in the IT sector. The 10 firms paid a
combined 15.4 billion yuan in taxes from January to November, 2006.
