CDMA keeping on growing

CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) will continue to increase its
subscribers and extend its coverage in 2003 denoted by a principal of Shanghai
Unicom. today's Youth Post reported
It is reported the second project of
CDMA will have been completely accomplished by the end of the first quarter with
an increase its subscribers from 15.15 million to 30 million. To compete with
GSM(Globel System of Mobile telecommunication),CDMA will also strengthen the
stability of its network and the signal receiving capability as well as
extending its coverage.
China Unicom has displayed the CDMD1EV-DO
technology at an telecommunication exhibition held in Hongkong. This so called
2.75G was granted the standard of 3G by the International Telecommunication
Union. The EV-DO technology can assure a 300k/s download speed 10 times of the
current rate,and in addition, an ordered video frequency programme and a video
frequency meeting are also available.
It is said that China Unicom will
become the first to provide a 3G service in the world if the EV-DO technology
are put into use by the end of the year.
