PCCW Joint Venture with China Telecom
17/9/2003 15:05
Hong Kong telecom company Pacific Century CyberWorks (PCCW) has
launched an equal joint venture with China Telecommunications Group, the largest
telecom group on China's mainland, today's Sina.com reported. The new
company, Unihub China, has inked two service contracts valued at 31 million yuan
(US$3.7 million) with China Telecom, the same report said. PCCW revealed the
joint venture plan earlier last year, but delayed its introduction due to the
overlap of the new company's business with another of PCCW's mainland joint
ventures. PCCW may consider a merger of the two ventures, the Sina report
said citing senior officials with the company.
