China has developed its first self-patent three-generation-telecom-technology-based mobile phone in Chongqing, marking a new era for the country's mobile telecom industry, today's International Finance News reported.
The phone is developed through a combination of the chip and software radio technologies, according to director of the 3G phone research team, Professor Zheng Jianhong with Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
He said the phone, based on the broadband technology, enables a variety of functions varying from high-speed data transmission to Internet surfing, digital camera and digital video taking.
