Little Smart service has experienced a boom in Shanghai in the past month,
with local users of the cordless mobile phone service increasing by some 60,000
to 200,000, today's Wenhui Daily reported. The service was launched in the
city last May, initially in the suburban areas of Fengxian, Nanhui, Jiading and
Songjiang. So far, it hasn't entered downtown Shanghai.
The three
Little Smart packages for local users come at 3 different monthly fees: 48 yuan
(US$5.8), 58 yuan and 78 yuan. If the user signs a two-year telecom contract
with Shanghai Telecommunications Corp., the local operator of the service, he
gets a free phone.
