Little Smart users to pay for SMS

Starting next Wednesday, users of Little Smart, a cordless phoning system, in northern China will pay for short messaging service, which they currently enjoy for free, today's Beijing Youth Daily reported.
Citing Beijing Telecom Corp, Little Smart operator in the capital, the users will be charged 0.08 yuan (1 US cent) for each piece of message they send out to those in Beijing, Tianjin and provinces of Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Henan and Shandong as well as Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
SMS has risen to be a key business for telecom operator, data from Beijing Telecom indicated. On the last three days of February, Little Smart users in the capital send an average 100,000 messages each day.
