China's largest used automobile trade market will open next week in
Shanghai, as the expansion project of the Shanghai Second-Hand Auto Exchange has
been primarily completed after one year's construction, today's Jiefang Daily
reported. After expanded, the market's area has been enlarged to over 70,000
square meters, five times of the original. Composed of six sections, the market
will be able to park more than 1,000 cars. The new market will take the
country's lead to be equipped with the electronic car trade management network,
the electronic car price evaluation system and the service credit information
record system, Jiefang Daily said. One of Shanghai's six used vehicle trade
markets, the car exchange was set up at the end of 2000 in Anting Town, northern
city's Jiading District. The expansion project, part of the International
Auto City Shanghai is constructing in Anting, is to meet the booming business of
used car transactions in the city, auto experts said. Shanghai has topped the
nation in second-hand car trade with nearly 80,000 cars sold in the first seven
months, marking a year-on-year jump of 2 percent.
