A growing number
of Chinese individuals have purchased cars as of 2002, with more than 50 percent
currently bought by individuals, according to the State Information
Center. In the future, five to ten percent of output surplus and 10 to 20
percent of capacity surplus will occur in the Chinese auto manufacturing
industry, the center indicated. Domestic automobile prices, especially sedan
prices, will continue to decline in the next three to five years, said an
industry analyst.
