Prices of imported cars to be cut
29/12/2004 17:26

Gucci Go/Shanghai Daily news

With the reduction of import tariffs and the cancellation of import licenses, several imported cars, including Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Skoda, are preparing to advertise new prices with a maximum reduction of 10% as of January 1, cited today's Shanghai Morning Post.
On the contrary, one principal from the Shanghai Bowdex.mini Corporation explained that due to the uncertainty of next year's exchange rate and import forms, BMW Shanghai plans to maintain its present pricing policy for the coming year.
In fact, the tariff fluctuation will not have as much influence on car prices as the exchange rate might.
