The huge throng of people logging onto the website of the Ministry of
Personnel jammed the site for seven hours yesterday, the Beijing Times
reported.
Yesterday was the day that the results of the country's 2006
government recruitment exams were posted on the site. Examinees nationwide
rushed online to check their test results and struck the site starting from 9
am.
The sought-after page was inoperable until 4.30 pm when the Webmaster
responded by broadening the site's bandwidth, according to the site's work
staff.
It was the huge number of simultaneous clicks that caused the problem,
they explained.
Over 360,000 people across the nation sat the exams last
month in competition for 10,282 government posts, according to the ministry.
