Employers try to prevent job-hopping
22/1/2003 16:01
Local enterprises are pulling out the stops to prevent their employees
from job-hopping once they've collected their year-end bonus, the Shanghai
Morning Post reported today.
Many employees pick this season to change
jobs, and most are after higher titles, better pay, and improved interpersonal
relationships, said Zhao Liming, vice general manager of the Shanghai Foreign
Service Corporation Limited (SFSC) branch.
The first two factors are
directly in the hands of employers, Zhao noted.
Some firms are offering
staff training programs, such as paid study abroad and visits to foreign
headquarters. Others are offering year-end raises or stock options.
Some
are tackling the third factor by organizing gatherings for employees and their
families intended to enhance relationships.
