Recruitment website for professionals launched in city
3/4/2003 16:03
A recruitment website for local professionals - www.83666.gov.cn - was
officially launched in Shanghai yesterday, the first government-backed website
nationwide for both employers and professionals.
More than 2,200
enterprises have posted recruitment information on the website over more than
ten days of experimental operation starting in mid March, attracting more than
28,000 graduating students with bachelor's or master's degrees from renowned
local universities such as Fudan University and Jiaotong University.
The
government-backed website, offering free service to both employers and
professionals, is more reliable than other commercial recruitment websites, as
it can check all subscriber information using databases maintained by the labor
and social security information system.
More than 100 local job agencies
will track and monitor communications on the website.
The website
provides a communication platform for both recruiters and job-hunters and offers
more opportunities for both sides, said a spokesman with the Shanghai Labor and
Social Security Bureau.
The average monthly salary of the more than 5,600
jobs posted on the website to date is over 2,000 yuan (US$241), with one-third
of positions paying more than 3,000 yuan per month.
The number of
recruiters is expected to top 10,000 by the second half of the year, with the
number of job-hunters predicted to reach 50,000.
