More university graduates find jobs
3/6/2003 16:06

A growing number of local companies have begun to recruit employees as SARS comes under control in the city, with more graduating university students finding jobs, the Shanghai Morning Post reported today, citing local universities.

"Many companies began to release recruitment information on our website several days ago," said Ji Shaoling, spokesman with the employment office of Shanghai Jiaotong University.

"Many of them had planned to hold promotion fairs in mid April, but delayed their plans due to the SARS outbreak," Ji said.

A growing number of graduating students have signed contracts with employers, said Song Lizhen, director of the employment office of Donghua University.

Eighty or ninety percent of the students that haven't signed labor contracts already have offers from many companies, but are expecting to find better ones, Song said.

Some companies are resuming their recruitment plans, and graduating students should grasp opportunities, an industry analyst suggested.
