Job situation improved in Hong Kong

Hong Kong's employment situation has improved recently, with more jobs offered over the past two months, eastday.com reported today.
According to the Labor Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, 24,600 jobs were registered for offering in August, hitting a record high, and the number hit 21,700 last month, an increase of six percent from a year before.
The number of jobs offered in catering industry increased by 30 percent in September from the previous month, with that in retail sector rising by 26 percent.
The Hong Kong Labor Department succeeded in helping 6,211 people find jobs last month, up nine percent from a year before.
Global economic recovery has stimulated Hong Kong residents' desire for consumption, and a rising inflow of mainland travelers also boosted the local economy, said an industry analyst.
The employment situation in Hong Kong will get better in the near future, the analyst said.
The Hong Kong Labor Department, in cooperation with 30 local enterprises, will hold a large job fair soon to offer more job opportunities to residents.
