Job recruitment kicks off for next year's university graduates

The employment work for next year's graduating university students
kicked off in Shanghai yesterday, with the number of local university graduates
increasing by 20,000 from last year, the Shanghai Morning Post reported
today. The number of graduating university students in the city is expected
to reach more than 100,000 next year, an increase of 20,000 from the year 2002.
Although the number of graduating university students surged next year, the
market demand is also expected to increase, according to the spokesmen with the
employment guidance centers of several universities in Shanghai. Finding jobs
is not very difficult if only the local university graduates have a reasonable
expectation for salaries, the spokesmen pointed out. The university graduates
who ask for 1,500-2,000 yuan in monthly salaries are proved to find jobs
easiest, according to a feedback information analysis from local
employers. Local university graduates should hold a proper attitude towards
employment, and they should get employed first before choosing good jobs, an
industry analyst suggested.
