Jobs few for the higher educated
20/4/2004 16:22

Job hunters with education above the university level will find it tougher to get a job in Shanghai, as only 3 percent of the positions listed in the online recruitment site www.zhaopin.com in the past five weeks are requiring university education.
In contrast, 15 percent of the job seekers registering with the website have university education.
Local companies, according to human resources experts, are being more practical in their recruitment policies, only seeking the right person for a job.
Locals with higher education will soon discover jobs even more difficult to find, they predicted, because more people who have been studying overseas are returning to China to pursue their careers.
